Ready for the New; Revelation 20-22

May the mumbling commence!
All things will be made new.  Thank God.
Sometimes (hey, who am I kidding – a vast majority of the time), this old world feels like the old jalopy of a car.  It might start and run about a third of the time.  It might actually go somewhere (forward or reverse) about a sixth of the time.  It might actually stop on our will about a thirtieth.
Bring on that new car!  Bring on that new world.  And the best part about it is that God’s new creation doesn’t automatically lose value when we “drive it off the lot”.  Read about that new creation from Revelation chapter twenty-one:
Then I saw a new Heaven and a new earth, for the first Heaven and the first earth had disappeared and the sea was no more. I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride dressed in beauty for her husband.
Then I heard a great voice from the throne crying, "See! The home of God is with men, and he will live among them. They shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death shall be no more, and never again shall there be sorrow or crying or pain. For all those former things are past and gone."
Then he who is seated upon the throne said, "See, I am making all thing new!" And he added, "Write this down for my words are true and to be trusted!" (Verses 1-5)

Everything that we know – or think we know – is no more.  It’s gone.
Down from heaven comes a new Heaven and a new earth.  In this new earth is the new Jerusalem – radiant in beauty, like a bride prepared for her husband.
It gets better.  In God’s new Heaven and new earth, the best is always yet to come.
God makes His home with us.  Tears will be whisked away – even the sorrow and crying and pain that caused them are nothing but a distant memory.  Death is no more.
See: God is making all things new.  These are the words of the Most High – they can be trusted above all else.  The Lord is coming soon…
Alleluia!  Come, Lord Jesus.
Amen.  Come, Lord Jesus. (Revelation 22:20b)
Enough mumbling for now…
Peace Out
