Rest in God's Care. Psalms 35-36; Colossians 4

May the mumbling commence!

God cares for all creation.  Trust the Creator to take care of you.  That message is strongly communicated through the verses at the heart of Psalm Thirty-six:

Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the ocean depths.
You care for people and animals alike, O Lord
How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.
You feed them from the abundance of your own house,
letting them drink from your rivers of delight.
For you are the fountain of life,
the light by which we see. (Verses 5-9)

God cares for you… whether or not you think the Lord exists.  The basis for this fact is evident in the wonderful creation around us.  It is such a delicate balance, yet balance it most often does.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, can find shelter in God… like shelter under the wings of a protective hen.  God is the source of all life and light.  Help us, O Lord, to live abundantly.  Help us to attempt to live like Jesus, in total obedience to You.

We have hope because of what the Lord has done for us.  When people ask, we need to be ready to answer.  That is what the Apostle Paul asks of us in the last chapter (chapter four) of Colossians.  Read a couple verses below:

Live wisely among those who are not Christians, and make the most of every opportunity.  Let your conversation be gracious and effective so that you will have the right answer for everyone. (Verses 5-6)

May we season our conversation with other so that it is gracious and Spirit-filled.  In that way only will we be effective.  Let the Spirit of the Living God do its work.

Enough mumbling for now…

Peace Out
