May the mumbling commence!
Today is Father’s Day. I have a wonderful earthly father. My greatest hope is that I am a wonderful
father to my son, Micah.
Regardless, our heavenly Father is
without compare. The Lord is Father to
all of creation. Let’s give thanks for
God this day. Read from Psalm
One-hundred Forty-five:
The Lord is kind and merciful,
slow to get angry, full of unfailing love.
The Lord
is good to everyone.
He showers compassion on all his creation.
All of your works will thank you, Lord,
and your faithful followers will bless you.
They will talk together about the glory of your kingdom;
they will celebrate examples of your power.
They will tell about your mighty deeds
and about
the majesty and glory of your reign.
For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
You rule generation after generation.
The Lord
is faithful in all he says;
he is gracious
in all he does.
The Lord
helps the fallen
and lifts
up those bent beneath their loads.
All eyes look to you for help;
you give
them their food as they need it.
When you open your hand,
you satisfy
the hunger and thirst of every living thing. (Verses 8-16)
The bar is set high for
fathers! Godly fathers are kind and
merciful. Godly fathers are patient and
loving. Godly fathers are good and
compassionate. Godly fathers are
faithful and gracious.
Godly fathers help their children
up when they fall. They help their
children by helping to lift their heavy burdens. Godly fathers provide for their children and
satisfy them.
It looks impossible to
fulfill. It is impossible to fulfill
without God in our lives as fathers. So
let’s ask God into our lives… whether we are biological fathers or not… whether
we are men or women… whether we are children or youth.
Let’s thank the Lord of all
creation. Let’s bless the Lord by
following the lead of the Holy Spirit.
Let’s talk about the glory of the kingdom and the wonderful deeds of
God. Let’s celebrate God.
And may we never forget that when
we need help, it is to God that we must look.
Thank You, O heavenly Father.
Enough mumbling for now…
Peace Out
