May the mumbling commence!
God knows we are weak, so the Lord saves us. Sometimes, we see our own worst enemies in
the mirror – looking back at us. Thank
You, O Lord, for feeding us both physically and spiritually! Read from the end of Psalm One-hundred
Thirty-six:
He remembered our utter weakness.
His faithful love endures forever.
He saved
us from our enemies.
His faithful love endures forever.
He gives
food to every living thing.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His faithful love endures forever. (Verses
23-26)
Thank You, O God, for your
ever-enduring and faithful love. You
love us in spite of ourselves. We give
thanks!
May we learn to boldly and
generously share the love of God. How do
we do that? Read from Hebrews chapter
thirteen:
Don't forget to show hospitality
to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained
angels without realizing it! Don't forget about those in prison. Suffer with
them as though you were there yourself. Share the sorrow of those being
mistreated, as though you feel their pain in your own bodies.
Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one
another in marriage. God will surely
judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.
Stay away from the love of money; be satisfied with what you
have. For God has said,
"I will
never fail you.
I will never
forsake you." (Verses 2-5)
Be hospitable to strangers. Walk along with those who suffer. Honor marriage and purge from your midst
adultery (which is a form of idolatry).
Do not love money.
BE SATISFIED WITH WHAT YOU
HAVE! How is that for a counter-cultural
teaching! It will mean sacrifice to
follow this teaching. Read further from
Hebrews chapter thirteen:
With Jesus' help, let us
continually offer our sacrifice of praise to God by proclaiming the glory of
his name. Don't forget to do good and to
share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing
to God. (Verses 15-16)
Let us proclaim the glory of God’s
name with both our words and our deeds… and don’t forget about the attitudes of
our hearts. All of them we give unto
You, O Lord, for transformation.
Enough mumbling for now…
Peace Out
