May the mumbling commence!
Faith is an essential step in the Christian life. It is the first step in a life-long
journey. To take that step alone would
be woefully incomplete way to follow Jesus… to do things the Jesus Way. Read from James chapter two (NIV):
Show me your faith without deeds, and I
will show you my faith by what I do. You
believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that – and
shudder. (Verses 18b-19)
Yes, we are saved by faith alone, but that faith needs
proved by fruit. What fruit have we
shown as Christians? What work have we
done now that we have been freed to do godly works in this world?
These are important questions to ask of ourselves,
because believing in Jesus as the Son of God alone is doing nothing more than
the demons. If that is all you do, then
you too will shudder.
Let us take more fruitful steps in our Christian walk.
