Our Life Focus; Philippians

May the mumbling commence!

Time to get our life in focus!  In fact, getting our life in focus is a daily task.  Let’s read the words that the Apostle Paul wrote to the Philippians at the beginning of chapter two (NIV):

If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.  Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Verses 1-4)

Our focus is Christ.  Never forget that.  When our focus in rightly on Christ, joy will be made complete in us.

When our joy is based upon Christ, then we will eschew all the vanity and conceit and entitlement that most in our culture hang so stridently to.  When we realize that our joy is founded in Christ Jesus, then we will be humbled.  Our joy does not depend upon our work or our attributes.

We should broadcast on all avenues available to us – Twitter, Facebook, radio, television, books, newspapers… any mode of communication to the world around us – what wonderful things Christ has done for us.  Now that is joy – complete and whole.

Let us not be quiet.  Let us share it with the world.  In so doing, we consider others more than we consider ourselves.  Christ is the best Lord for you and me… Christ is the best Lord for all.

Don’t forget it.  Christ is our focus.  Nothing or no one else can take the place of that focus.

Enough mumbling for now…

Peace Out
